Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Dayton Moving forward
The Salvation Army in Dayton is one of five cities in the Eastern Territory to receive final approval to construct a Corps Community Center with funding donated by the late Joan B. Kroc.
The multi-building community resource campus aims to be a "Beacon of Hope" in North Dayton, offering a mix of recreation, education, arts, worship and social service amenities to the Dayton area.
The JPA team ia currently designing a recreation building featuring world class basketball facilities, a worship and arts building, an education center and a women's and children's shelter on the site located at North Keowee and Webster Streets.
The historic Duncarrick House, former home of prominent Dayton political activist Katherine Kennedy Brown, will also be renovated for use as administrative offices for the Dayton Salvation Army and the focal point of the entire campus.
