Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Dayton Underway
Construction will be completed in March, 2010 on this multi-building campus in North Dayton at the intersection of Keowee and Webster Streets.
Made possible by a $1.5 billion donation from the Joan B. Kroc Foundation, this invaluable facility will include a worship building, education and training facility and recreation center. The campus will also be home to a women and children's shelter. Administrative offices for the Kroc Center will be housed in the Duncarrick House - the early 20th century estate home of political activist Katherine Kennedy Brown. Duncarrick is being historically restored as part of the project.
Along with significant improvements to I-75 and redevelopment of the former Parkside Homes site, the Kroc Center is ushering in new life for the McCook and Old North Dayton neighborhoods and will be a "beacon of hope" for the surrounding community.
